A telephone system contains numbers for dates and time, short fragments of sentences, which, when installed, the computer will put together to form complete sentences.

Translation of telephone prompts

To translate sentence fragments is more difficult that translating a complete sentence. It is important to know the flow chart of the telephone system so that a translator can rephrase sentence fragments to make them complete once installed.

Dates and times are spoken differently around the world and various possibilities are possible even in English. To make a translation of times and dates work, a complete understanding of the system is required and possible engineering notes have to be written to make the programmer re-program the system for another language.
